Didn't that one doctor in the stairwall have utopium before Max Rager?

This is my theory. It wasn't just the drink that made the zombies. On the final episode of season 2 a group of people were allowing utomium (or lucky u) into their system along with Max Rager. Throughout the entire show people have been drinking Max Rager without becoming a zombie. People also sniffed utopium without turning into a zombie. My theory is that since Max Rager makes people hyperactive there may be a chemical inside of the drink that gives the brain lots of energy. I also believe that there's a chemical that causes utopium to infect the brain making it sick and eventually die off. How does it keep the body alive though? Another part of my theory is that it kills off parts of the brain that keeps the human body thinking and functioning, but the chemical still keeps the legs, arms, etc. moving. Liv however needs brains because of the chemicals in the brains that keep the body and mind functioning. She still has her personality along with people's brain she eats.

I'm sorry this is a long theory lol and no I'm not an expert or scientist lol.

It was the combination of tainted Utopium from the boat party and one of the chemicals in the Max Rager drink that caused zombieism.

Basically, Max Rager and Utopium don't mix.

In experiments on rats performed in eps 7 & 8 they said they believe it's due to a biochemical reaction catalyzed by the combination of a tainted batch of the designer drug Utopium and an ingredient (likely unlisted) in the Max Rager energy drink. This chemical cocktail activated long-dormant genes, which then transforms an ordinary human or rat into a zombie at the cellular level. In the experiment they performed, the zombie rat was created from a combination of 40% Utopium and 90% Max Rager. In a cute sequence the control rat was busily trying to escape the zombie rat by attempting to gnaw through the locked door to the storage room.
