Drake Holloway was a zombie that had recently been turned by Liv Moore because he was someone with information on the tainted Utopium that could lead to a cure. It was later revealed that he was an undercover cop trying to get enough dirt on Mr Boss to take him out of business.

Season 2

Vic, a drug dealer known by the street name Pogo, an old high school buddy of his and an "associate" of Blaine (who dealt the same tainted Utopium at the boat party that turned him and Liv) and Don Eberhard, called Drake, while he was in the trunk of a car. Over the phone, Vic explained that he and another dealer, Larry, stole some of the tainted Utopium in its powder form from Mr Boss, packed them in condoms and swallowed them, hoping to smuggle it into Ibiza to sell and use. They were discovered and captured, however. Apparently, during the call, Vic was able to kick the taillight out and was able to tell him that the last thing that he saw was the Jensen Water Tower. Drake then heard Vic get shot.

Don E., during his search for the tainted Utopium for Blaine, somehow found out that Drake might know something about the drugs. Don E then inadvertently told someone, leading to Drake getting shot. Don E. then brought him to Blaine at Shady Plots. After Blaine learns who he is, he brings Drake to the morgue and asks Liv to scratch him because he is so far gone and can't be saved.

Once turned, they took him back to the funeral home and Blaine then presents the options to Drake, go full zombie or provide info and get brains in return. Drake took the news in stride and simply asked what must be done to get some brains. As a personal guard and lackey of Mr. Boss, He began feeding information to Blaine, who in turn gave them to the assistant district attorney, Peyton Charles. When Liv came over, Drake thanked her for saving his life (and for giving his first brain meal some flavor with hot sauce). He then explained to them the Utopium situation. The group believe that Vic and Larry must have been buried somewhere near the water tower and still has tainted Utopium in their bodies since Mr Boss was still looking for the drugs.("Cape Town")

Drake became worried that Boss would find out that he was the rat getting his stash houses raided but has tried to prevent him from finding out by keeping his men from reporting to him.

Tired of working odd jobs for Blaine, Drake asked Liv if he could instead get brains from her. When Liv, who was on the brains of a horny librarian, told him that she'd need to get to know him first, Drake had dinner with her. Liv secretly feeds him with the same brain she's on, and they end up making out, though Liv guiltily stopped and said they should wait until the brains wear off. When it did, Drake returned and they slept together. ("Fifty Shades of Grey Matter")

After helping Peyton through the guild, Liv seeks out more information about Drake and finds out he was in prison after committing aggravated assault. When she speaks to Drake about it, he explains his father split and his mother used to have loser boyfriends. One in particular was a mean drunk, Frank. Drake comes home, 19 years old, his mothers eye is swollen shut, blood down the front of her shirt, Frank sitting in front of the tv, his hand in his shorts calling for beer like nothing happened. Drake says he just snapped and went after him. Frank pulled a knife, Drake points to the scar on his face, confirming it was because of this event. A prosecutor said Drake went a bit overboard because Frank still can't walk or feed himself. Liv says she appreciates him telling her and he asks to take her to dinner, but then abruptly changes his plans after receiving a phone call about his mother's sink leaking. Liv voices that it's shady for such an abrupt change, so he apprehensively invites her to go with him because he says his mom is a bit of a trip.

Liv meets his mom and she gets the whole normal mom run down while Drake fixes her sink. They end the evening with Drake wearing a sweater mom made him, and his mother taking couple pictures of him and Liv.

Liv and Drake continue their relationship and one morning, Major comes over to tell her something. As Liv has eaten Compulsive Liar brain, she spins a story about her brother being there and on the verge of an allergic situation. When Major leaves, Liv returns to her room to find Drake finishing dressing so he can tend to some business. While inviting Drake back that evening for dinner and desert via a hidie key, she says he can bring back a girl for them to share. As he's walking out, she calls out that she was lying about the girl part, he calls back that he knows it was a lie.

When Liv went to Mr. Boss to question him about the body, Drake was seen at his car in the parking lot, talking with his mom on the phone. Because Liv is on scientific brain, she decides to get more data, and tracks Drake with a cellphone tucked under his seat. Her data collection gives her the hypothesis that Drake is a criminal and she invites him to dinner in a public place with many exits to confront him and give him an opportunity to explain.

Drake, sitting in the car outside the restaurant, is trying to end a call with his mother. After finally getting her off the phone, Drake steps out of the car where he is kidnapped by Major, who was directed by Blaine to kidnap/freeze him because Blake didn't give Blaine a heads up that Mr. Boss was coming for him, which was Drake's main job for Blaine.

Liv, not knowing Drake has been taken, goes to his mother's house asking for him. Drakes mother, in tears at the door, states that she knows he's dead. He's missing and he hasn't called her in four days, which is very unusual for him. She invites Liv in and they reminisce over a photo album. As she moves through the album, she reaches a picture of Drake's graduation from the Police Academy. Mom then laments about Drake going undercover and how she thought it was too dangerous.

Major is arrested for being a suspect in the Chaos Killer case and Liv learns that Major kidnapped Drake as one of the One Percenters and put them into a freezer. Major, having reverted to Zombie status, is in need of brains and is trying not to eat the prisoner population and start the apocalypse. Liv and Ravi come up with a plan to unfreeze at least one of the kidnapped, which would bring the case against Major into question, thus getting him out of jail. After getting the location from Major, Liv and Ravi go to the freezer location but find that all of the One Percenters are missing from the freezers.

Drake and the other One Percenters were stolen from Major's freezers by employees of Max Rager and placed in their secret sub levels. They were all placed in one of the basement's glass cells and tested one by one for the zombie cure by Vaughn for his daughter Rita, who had been infected. The cure had so far shown only to accelerate the zombie infection by the first two One Percenters who it had been led back out from the testing room. A guard approached the original groups and calls out for test subject number 3. Drake offers himself up and walks willingly to the testing room.

On the night of Max Rager's prison party, Liv, Major, and Clive infiltrate the staff and make their way down to the subfloors. They find Rita first, who negotiates her release for the passcode. Liv and Clive enter the room and Vaughn traps them in the next room, which has one cell of functional One Percenters and one cell of "cured" full zombie test subjects. One of those subjects is Drake. Vaughn releases the "cured" zombies and Liv keeps Clive from killing Drake at first, but when Drake goes after Clive and gets him pinned down, Liv shoots him once in the back of the head.

Powers and Abilities

  • Memory Absorption: When he consumed a new brain, Drake would absorb the memories of the deceased; these memories were experienced as visions.
  • Pseudo-Immortality: As a Zombie, Drake was trapped in a paradox between life and death; as result, he was no longer fettered by the limitations of either state (i.e. fatality). Contracting the zombie virus allowed Drake to survive several gunshot wounds to the chest, however, any injuries that resulted in brain death would prove fatal.
  • Trait and Skill Absorption: When he ingested a brain, Drake would temporarily absorb certain traits and skills possessed by the deceased.
  • "Full-On Zombie Mode": When in danger, in the midst of a violent confrontation or experiencing intense emotion, Drake entered a state where his zombie characteristics fully surface; causing his eyes to turn a deep red, and affording him incredible increases in strength, speed, agility and pain nullification.
  • Enhanced Strength/Agility: When experiencing "full-on zombie mode", Drake’s physical strength and speed were greatly enhanced.

Relationships

  • Blaine DeBeers: Blaine was the zombie that supplied Drake with brains, though Drake never seemed to like him. And has told Blaine that he shouldn't be supplying the police with information because it would hurt Drake.
  • Liv Moore: The two flirted in Fifty Shades of Grey Matter and later, and eventually slept together. They continued to have a relationship and it is implied that Drake loved her.
  • Mr Boss: Drake appeared to be working for Mr Boss, but in reality, he was working with the police to take him down.
  • Detective Lou Benedetto: Undercover contact.
  • Detective Vega: Undercover contact.
