Maxine Lippman is a wealthy member of the Crisp Pines Country Club and often golfs with her friend, Sandy Brinks, while gossiping. Maxine is present on the day Sandy Brinks is struck by an unknown assailant. Shocked by such an event happening right in front of her, Maxine faints.
