The Fresh Princess is the ninth episode of Season 5 and the 67th episode of the series overall. It first aired on June 27, 2019.
Synopsis
LIV EATS THE BRAIN OF A BEAUTY PAGEANT CONTESTANT — Liv (Rose McIver) and Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) investigate the murder of Miss Teen Seattle beauty pageant contestant, Laurie-Beth Spano, who went into anaphylactic shock onstage in 1999 and ended up in a coma. At the time, police arrested rival contender Velma Charlet for spiking Laurie-Beth’s makeup and she was given a four-year sentence. In present day, Laurie-Beth has passed away and Clive has arrested Velma, for her murder. Velma claims to be innocent and Liv consumes Laurie-Beth’s brain in hopes of tracking down the murderer.

- This episode marks the last appearance of Eva and Evan Moore.
- Evan is suffering from severe medical complications from the burn scars he suffered from the explosion at Meat Cute in Blaine's World.
- When Liv is leaving a voicemail for Clive, she starts it with "Wassaaaap" a reference to a popular Budweiser commercial. However, Liv is on the brain of a pageant contestant who has been in a coma since Oct 1998 (date shown in video of the pageant). The Budweiser commercial that's referenced didn't air for the first time until Dec 26, 1999, 14 months after the pageant contestant had been in a coma.
- The past murder in this episode is similar to Wag the Tongue Slowly, which was the result of an accident.
